Hola a tod@s.
Antes de nada, queremos agradecer públicamente a los Artistas y a todo nuestro equipo técnico y humano el tremendo esfuerzo realizado el pasado sábado en el Teatro del Generalife para atender a todos los fans que acudieron al concierto de Elvis Costello & Steve Nieve, y del que deseábamos ofrecerles una maravillosa velada, pero la lluvia y el aparato eléctrico sobrevenido nos impidieron llevar a cabo.

El propio Elvis Costello tomó la decisión personal de seguir adelante con el show y confiar en que la lluvia no arreciaría y, como organización, fuimos tras sus pasos intentando arroparle modestamente para que pudiera permanecer en el escenario, continuar con la actuación y a la vez no poner en peligro a los trabajadores del evento.

Lamentablemente, no pudo ser así, a pesar de dichos esfuerzos, el resultado fue tener que interrumpir y cancelar definitivamente el concierto pasados unos minutos tras su inicio.

Dicho esto, y en atención y respuesta a los comentarios vertidos en rrss y otros medios, queremos informaros de las siguientes puntualizaciones:

1) Realizar un espectáculo en la Alhambra, espacio patrimonial protegido por la Unesco, implica que los modelos de producción técnica autorizados descartan la instalación de escenarios techados, como es habitual en otros festivales o Plazas de Toros.
Esto ha sido, y es, así en todos los eventos celebrados en el Teatro del Generalife (Festival de Música y Danza, Lorca en el Generalife y 1001 Músicas-CaixaBank).

Queremos que entiendan que el no techar el escenario no es una decisión de la organización, pero aún así asumimos este riesgo adicional como parte del proyecto que soñamos con nuestras 1001 Músicas y ofrecer al publico la mejor música desde el Complejo Monumental de la Alhambra y el Generalife al mundo.

2) Las quejas recibidas por la retirada de paraguas en los controles de acceso, podemos entenderlas desde el punto de vista humano y por la lluvia, pero como organización de un espectáculo musical nuestra obligación es cumplir la Ley de Espectáculos Públicos, la cual indica que no se puede acceder a los recintos con objetos susceptibles de ser arrojados al escenario y/o usados como arma.

Y esto, cumplir la ley, es lo que nos hace trabajar tranquilos y con seguridad para artistas y público.

3) En relación a algunos comentarios circulantes sobre que cancelamos cuando apenas llovía, les informamos que la decisión final se tomó cuando empezamos a ver relámpagos en el cielo y, adicionalmente, desde el Aeropuerto de Granada se nos informó que había una tormenta eléctrica dirigiéndose a la ciudad.
Ante esto, es el propio Artista el que nos dice que lo siente pero que ya no es posible seguir.

Habíamos hecho todo lo que estaba en nuestras manos, pero había peligro real para las personas que estaban trabajando sobre el escenario.
Una vida humana, vale más que cualquier concierto por muy especial que sea.

4) A partir de aquí, les informamos que la organización va a proceder a la devolución total de todas las entradas adquiridas para el concierto.
La devolución se realizará en los próximos días, y siempre dentro del plazo legal establecido, mediante el sistema utilizado para la compra.

La devolución de las entradas adquiridas online serán devueltas automáticamente. Para las entradas adquiridas en tiendas o por teléfono ya pueden solicitar la devolución del importe a través del mismo punto en el que fueron adquiridas.

Sentimos sinceramente las molestias ocasionadas y esperamos volver a verles en el Ciclo 1001 Músicas-CaixaBank.

Hello everybody.
First of all, we would like to publicly thank the artists and all our technical and human team for the tremendous effort made last Saturday at the Generalife´s Theatre to attend to all the fans who came to the Elvis Costello & Steve Nieve concert, which we wanted to offer you a wonderful evening, but the rain and the electric device prevented us from carrying it out.

Elvis Costello himself took the personal decision to go ahead with the show and trust that the rain would not increase and, as an organisation, we followed in his footsteps trying to modestly tuck him in so that he could stay on stage, continue with the performance and at the same time not endanger the workers of the event.

Unfortunately, this was not possible, and despite these efforts, the result was that the concert had to be interrupted and definitively cancelled a few minutes after it had started.

That said, and in response to the comments made on rrss and other media, we would like to inform you of the following points:

1) Performing a show in the Alhambra, a heritage site protected by Unesco, implies that the authorised technical production models rule out the installation of roofed stages, as is usual in other festivals or bullrings.
This has been, and is, the case for all the events held in the Generalife´s Theatre (Festival de Música y Danza, Lorca en el Generalife and 1001 Músicas-CaixaBank).

We want you to understand that not roofing the stage is not a decision of the organisation, but we still assume this additional risk as part of the project we dream of with our 1001 Musics Festival and to offer the public the best music from the Monumental Complex of the Alhambra and the Generalife to the world.

2) The complaints received about the removal of umbrellas at the access controls, we can understand them from a human point of view and because of the rain, but as the organisers of a musical show our obligation is to comply with the Law of Public Performances, which states that it is not allowed to enter the venues with objects that can be thrown on stage and/or used as a weapon.

And this, complying with the law, is what makes us work calmly and safely for artists and public.

3) In relation to some comments circulating that we cancelled when it was just raining, we inform you that the final decision was taken when we started to see lightning in the sky and, additionally, from the Granada Airport we were informed that there was a thunderstorm heading towards the city.
Faced with this, it was the Artist himself who told us that he was sorry but that it was no longer possible to continue.

We had done everything in our power, but there was real danger for the people who were working on stage.
A human life is worth more than any concert, however special it may be.

4) From here on, we inform you that the organisation is going to proceed to the total refund of all the tickets purchased for the concert.
The refund will be made in the next few days, and always within the established legal period, through the system used for the purchase, and tickets purchased online will be automatically refunded.

For tickets purchased in shops or by telephone, you can request a refund through the same point of purchase.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to see you again at 1001 Musics-CaixaBank Festival.
